...Reading and reviewing fic isn't a reciprocal arrangement. Just because you liked someone else's fic doesn't mean they're going to like yours.

Nope. Reading and reviewing fic isn't something people are obligated to give you. There's no social contract and no selfishness if they don't.

I'm lucky enough to be a fairly popular writer in my fandom. I get comments and kudos from A LOT of people.

I'm also an adult with real-world responsibilities.

So, sorry if it's "selfish" but I'm going to prioritize, you know, my family and my job over reading and reviewing fic by every single person who once said "Good story!" on mine.

What the actual fuck. People are not obligated to enjoy your fic just because you enjoyed theirs. That isn't how fic works. That isn't how anything works.
