I mean, I totally get why people are not fond of her. She's a theater kid at heart and it really shows, especially when she goes over-the-top. I can see how it gets on people's nerves and I admit it's a bit of a turn-off for me as well.

But at the same time you can see that she not just loves her idols, she respects the hell out of them. A lot of people would play it cool, but I just don't think she's got the "playing it cool" gene anywhere in her. Which really makes me like her as a person, too.

I haven't seen any of her acting, but based on other people who've seen both AHS and A Star Is Born, they said it was hella obvious she took acting lessons somewhere in between because she's A LOT better in the movie. While she doesn't quite manage to stand toe-to-toe with the really heavy-hitters in the movie cast, she does manage to hold her own. So, you know. Good on her. Rather than retreat into I AM A STAH, she took criticism of her AHS acting seriously, buckled down, did the work, and improved.

I mean, it pretty obvious she's ambitious, and that she wants to be a multi-hyphenate, EGOT artiste. That really tends to rub people the wrong way. Some of the hate that gets thrown her way on certain gossip boards is INSANE and it strikes me as somewhat gendered, because I can't imagine male pop stars getting that level of hate for doing the same thing.

As for me, I figure if she's willing to work for it, INCLUDING hiring people to train her even at this late date, I honestly can't hate.

All of this.
I watched her 'five foot two' biography thing, and i've read about her here and there, and she seems like just good people.

And she *is* talented, and she *does* work hard, and she's really not all 'omg, i'm a star, fuck you!!'

So, yeah, hate on her if you like, but don't try to pretend she's a talentless hack.
