I promise it exists, if you actually take the time to look for it. There are websites and rec-lists SPECIFICALLY focused on promoting non-white and non-straight fiction.

And how many of the gay ones are romances? Or center around the inherent gayness of a person and it's not just that they're gay and on an adventure? Because I sure as shit haven't found any, even with those lists.

I wouldn't classify any of the ones I've read in the past year as romances, even though most of them has romance as a subplot (which is true of straight fiction as well, even when it's boring to do so), and all of them ARE "gay and on an adventure". None of them have been about "the inherent gayness" of the character. They're fully fleshed out, taking part in a plot, and happen to be gay.
