So... who'll still have a blog over there tomorrow? Who will get the boot from the flagging bots? Who has already deleted their account in protest?

I will probably still have a blog, though there are one or two somewhat nsfw things I didn't delete yet so I'm not counting on it. I'll probably be on there to the bitter end, depending on how bitter the end really is.

Anyone considering migrating over to Twitter?

Certainly not! How can you do anything else than useless shitposts on a 150 characters limit? You can't possibily post a fic, a manifesto, a proper episode reaction, etc, on a endless string of little bits!

But you can string manifestos and episode reactions into threads really easily, and also have conversations the same way....

Nope. Too impractical and awfully spammy. Conversation is only slightly less awful than on Tumblr. I'm definitely not going there.

Right? I'm baffled that anyone who isn't posting a single image, a link, or a brief comment is even *considering* Twitter. It's a portal to fandom, not a fandom base.

If you don't want to use Twitter that's your business, I'm obviously not going to convince you to change your mind, whatever.

But that's not really how Twitter works, that's not what it is. It's definitely not something where those are the only things you can post. It's extremely possible to have conversations if you want to. The number of long, involved, fandom-y conversations I've seen and been a part of on Twitter is really high. If it's confusing or you just don't like it, sure, different strokes for different folks. But, you know?

I should still have mine. My Tumblr has always been SFW. I got a pillowfort and a twitter but not sure how much I will use them.

Are the really going to delete blogs? It sounded like they'd just be switching those posts to private.

Starting on December 17, 2018, any post(s) that have been flagged will be reverted to a private setting viewable only by you.

Of course, I know a lot of blogs have already been deleted. My porn blog is still up, though it's entirely separate from my fandom blog (thank goodness). We'll see. The internet giveth, and the internet taketh away.

Anyone participating in the tumblr blackout? I thought I might as well, I won't get the change to be online much tomorrow anyway... and who knows, it might send some kind of message if enough people do it.

I'll be doing it. I don't have much confidence in it helping, but it's not impossible.

I'm going to log off. I don't think it'll do anything with the tumblr situation, I think that boat has sailed. But I'm sure other companies are looking at the public response to tumblr's decisions.

That's pretty much why I'm doing it.

I've already gone away from Tumblr until later.

I logged off as soon as midday on Sunday and won't go back until Tuesday morning, just to be safe because timezones.

Even though I have adult content, it is mainly text. I looked up to see, and I have not been labeled as one of the ones that will probably get deleted. I think I'm safe. I don't know about other parts of my fandom, though.

I think I'll still be there, just with some pages missing? I haven't gone through and changed things myself like I thought I might.

I just found out that mine's been flagged. There's not enough time to try and save it. I was thinking about going back but I guess not.

On the positive side, a fandom friend I added there who turned out to be a nasty SJW who would probably attack me and call me a pedophile if I unfriended her (seriously, she was crazy) and was the reason I stopped going there is also getting purged, so this does solve one problem at least. (She's not active anywhere else I'm at, so...)

My page is still there but I've not interacted in over a week other than to see if my page is still there lol
