LOL. When you know how many people here prefer fic because it's tagged, sorted and filter-able, I feel like picking up a book is not on the top of their list. Because you have to just... read and find out stuff for yourself. *gasps*

I'm a SFW blog, so it might be that I'm just not affected, but I didn't lose a single follower or blog that I follow.

My partner, who mostly does SFW game and MMO fandom posts along with a few other things, had about a dozen inexplicable deletions this evening.

From what I've seen, it doesn't seem like anyone I follow got deleted. However plenty of people chose to voluntarily migrate as of today, while others were participating in a 'day of silence' by not posting or reblogging anything.

Honestly, the whole 'not using Tumblr' thing is kind of useless. Since blogs are starting to get deleted, there's going to be a downtick in activity anyway, and I'm sure they're ready for that.

Tumblr ain't going to go back to how it used to be, people just need to accept that. This kind of protest isn't going to do anything.

The magnitude of the drop in activity can still be more or less than expected.

Tumblr is not going to go back to how it used to be. True. But that doesn't mean that we have to just knuckle under, either. Tell them to go fuck themselves.

I'm not using Tumblr today but I have already accepted that it isn't going to change anything. But a day with less social media is a good thing for me. (Not that I'm off it altogether, obviously)
