Isn't it game canon that all pokemon eat Berries anyway? Including the ones you'd think were strictly carnivorous?

*CAN eat berries or live on a berry diet, that is.

I assume the trainers go for that option considering it'd be much cheaper and easier anyway.

None of that states "this Pokemon is an obligate carnivore" though.

Especially considering all of them in the game are capable of eating all sorts of berries, including the ones you'd think shouldn't be able to according to their real life counterparts.
