Subjective. I would feel like I was cheating myself if I didn't analyze everything. Why would having one hangup with some Word of God pronouncement lead to an ultimately inadequate viewing experience, anyway?

Can't see how, if you're nitpicking the underlying structure of the show, you can actually enjoy it.

That's why it's subjective. Anyway, most of the nitpicking happens after the fact. I'm not saying that you have to indulge in my pastimes, or anything, just that I indulge in them because I find it deepens my appreciation of a series. Different strokes, you know?

Unfortunately, it sometimes means that a popular interpretation of that series gets on my nerves to a ridiculous degree (and yes, I know perfectly well how ridiculous it is).
