It's a bad coping mechanism and ultimaly unfair to other people, something we should try to get away from other people. It's also an outgrowth of mental health that we should try to be sympathetic about, not something that makes you a garbage person

There's a huge difference between doing something shitty to someone and being a shitty person, though. That's maybe a shade of grey we've entirely lost in online argument. A person with anxiety is not a garbage person for acting out because of our mental illness-- however, the onus is on us to change the behavior.

I'm not saying that it's ultimately good that Ruby acted that way, but I do think it's ultimately understandable, and I personally find it sympathetic.
