I'd believe that if there were any religious reference in the show. the closest they get to Jesus is Santa!

I don't really think that, I was just trying to be funny. What I really think is going on there is that they wanted to give some exclamation of good cheer, but thought it would be funny if he was a little mixed-up when he appears or comes back (i.e. it was not the expected 'Merry Christmas!' or 'Happy Holidays!') and didn't want to specifically reference another holiday. So, because he's a little mixed-up when he first appears or comes back, he's saying 'Happy Birthday!' as a general salutation and not to anyone in particular.
