Re: Weekend Plans?

I've got a little bit of work to do tonight, and I want to submit a couple secrets that have been sitting on my computer for awhile.

I still need to decide what to get my parents for Christmas (they always claim they "don't want anything" and there's really nothing they need, so it's always really hard to figure out what to get them) but I'm thinking I might just get a gift certificate online or something.

Also, I discovered a new podcast recently so I'm going to be listening to it, doing some reading, and someone at work recommended a movie that it sounds like I'll like so I'm going to watch that. And some baking.

And I was reading a book by a British author the other day and now I'm on a mission to make clotted cream, but you need non-ultra pasteurized cream, and so far, I haven't been able to find it in the US. There are still two stores I want to check that could possibly have it, so I might check those out this weekend, but I might wait until next week.

Yeah, I got to make some secrets as well.

What podcast? I love podcasts!

Hmm, the only place I could think of to get non-pasteurized cream would be a local farm. I hope you can find some.

It's called The Brothers Commonplace (weird name, I have no idea what it means), and it's a combination of comedy and true crime. Some of the jokes are pretty dark and...kind of shock humor, I guess? I'm generally not a fan of that "non-PC" type of humor where it seems like people are just using that as an excuse to be bigoted assholes, and there's a bit of that sort of thing, but it's different somehow. It's kind of more like they're making fun of that type of mindset rather than that they actually believe it, if that makes sense? Idk, I just don't at all get the sense that the hosts are jerks or have bad intentions. I could see how it could offend some people, but it actually doesn't bother me, even though I'm usually pretty sensitive to that kind of thing.

And yeah, I was thinking that. The two stores I still want to check are organic/health food type stores that sell a lot of locally sourced products and things like that so there might be a possibility I could find it at one of them, at least I'm hoping so!

Thanks! That sounds right up my alley!
