He was insured, but my car was quite old, so I don't expect to get much out of it, despite the low mileage. Fortunately my cousin is a lawyer with an axe to grind against this particular insurance company, ha!

Best of luck on your fridge shopping. You might want to check small local scratch-and-dent warehouses. We recently got a very nice brand new fridge for $400 including delivery and removal of the old. It has one barely noticeable mark on the side but was otherwise in perfect condition.
