Late, but... performing music on an amateur level doesn't actually require a lot of creativity or artistic skill, just practice. In a choir, you'll be given set parts to sing; in band, you'll follow the sheet music and need only modify your playing outside of that if the director specifically asks you to change something. In both of these, it's very unlikely that you'll be the only person performing the specific part.
