Bullet Journaling

(Anonymous) 2019-01-01 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
Does anyone here bullet journal? Or keep a regular journal in general?

I've not kept one since I was a kid. Keeping a bullet journal seems to be the in thing but is just so confusing!

I’ve kept a regular journal since I was a kid. I tried bullet journaling, but it just doesn’t work for me. Looks pretty though!

My sister is doing it but I don't really get it. I like the idea of keeping a list of shit at the front of like, "Books read, movies watched, goals." And then writing daily stuff of stuff you did and goals met. But I can't wrap my brain around indexes, the whole artistic part (drawing shit, making calendars, etc), and a lot of the other framework.

Also, I am super boring so don't really do a lot. And I have shitty handwriting. :/

Yeah, I look at the whole "keeping a list" part and I'm just like... but that's what I already do? Why do I need some sort of fancy journal to do that? I don't get it.

I sort of like the idea of a keeping them someplace where I can refer back to them. I always lose paper I write stuff on.

I keep a bullet-ish journal. I just dump whatever in it. Monthly calendars, craft project notes, recipes, books I'm reading, to-do lists, wishlists, story ideas, etc. Sometimes I'll fill ten pages in a day. Other times I'll go weeks without touching it. Just whatever I'm in the mood for.

I don't worry with keeping any kind of organization to it or making it artistic or fancy. I do find it useful to flip back through it from time to time for inspiration. But journaling isn't a hobby for me, in and of itself. Just a collection of ideas and a general log of what's going on in my life.

I like those 5x8 moleskine notebooks with the graph lining. They're really sturdy and fit in my purse.

I keep a regular journal, which sometimes has lists of things I want to do/want to buy and other times is just random word vomit?

I try to keep a bullet journal, but sometimes forget about it for a few weeks. IDK where you've looked up BJs, but the concept is very simple. Things just got baroque when the scrapbooking crowd took the idea and ran with it.
