Not really, IMO. Nicknames are random and some people might have more than one nickname.

As an example, in The Sopranos there is a character named Carmella, and on the show most characters called her "Carm" but her dad called her "Mel".

You are providing an example of a character who in canon has two different nicknames, and demonstrating how consistent use of them in-universe is a shorthand strategy to highlight a particular meaningful relationship. To my and many other commenters' recollections of MCU canon, that is not the case here.

In my experience, although I do not read MCU fic much so this is based on many other fandoms, writers do not give characters new nicknames simply for the innocent reason that "some people have several nicknames". They do so because they are committed to a particular characterization and/or relationship that they feel is better reflected by some alternative, fanon nickname. Usually it results in entirely OOC fics. People are allowed to write whatever they want, of course, but when I see a story with one of those dreaded nicknames, I hit the back arrow as fast as possible.
