BNFs

Have you ever met one in real life? What were they like? (Names and fandoms all a bonus! Give us the T!)

Supernatural

Yep. Years ago I met Fleshflutter, who was a BNF in the wincest fandom on LJ. I think the only person here likely to remember her is Tabaqui.

She was lovely, really sweet. A complete contrast to the pretty dark fic she wrote.

Not in the least. I re-read Flying Weight just a few weeks ago.

Here's her AO3:

but most of her work is still just available on LJ:

Some of her epic works are converted to downloadable e-books here:

And for Fleshflutter noobs: a good starting point is the clever and funny "The Incestuous Courtship of the Antichrist's Bride"

Author's summary: Sam is trying to become the Antichrist in order to save the world. He has a small army of angels and demons, he has an adoring cult, he has a work of prophecy by Jack Kerouac, and he has Dean. Things are going pretty well until he accidentally signs Dean up as his Beloved Consort, a role that requires sex with the Antichrist on an altar. And that's when things stop going pretty well. Also, the soundtrack to the Apocalypse sucks.

Aha yes. A big name in HP fandom at the time. I ended up chief bridesmade at her wedding.

Are you still friends? What were they like? (Do we get a name? ;))

We are still friends but they are far less involved with fandom these days. They were the opposite of what you'd expect. They wrote hardcore bdsm hp fic and are the sweetest little imp irl. I won't share their username because they, like me, suffer from anxiety and would be flustered if it led to people seeking them out though they are far less active in fandom now.

I met a few HP BNFs when I went to a Potter convention in London. It was during the week where DH came out.
