For example, I just can't get into most slash ships except as crack because it really shows when writers are being heteronormative with their characters, like in classic Trek where the attractiveness of female guests is explicitly mentioned in the episode and everyone is hooked up with a girlfriend or fiancee at least once. It's just not my thing currently.
