Let's see... I used to identify as asexual, but I think 10 years after I started writing about my ships, my curiosity got piqued and maybe I just had a late awakening. It is hard to admit that, but I was raised southern Baptist and that didn't help my repression. I had crushes on men that went nowhere because I couldn't entertain the thought of anything sexual without deep fear and body horror (pregnancy, penises were scary, etc...). But I shipped m/f and loved it. I didn't realize until in retrospect I had a lot of crushes on girlfriends, but very specific ones. And one of them got me into slash. Got me to not be so close minded. On my own I actually started shipping women and became ok with my orientation gradually because I started realizing I really liked both dick and vagina, I was just too grossed out by it all this time. So now I'm just sexually frustrated and ship anything that has chemistry. It's been a wild ride to get here emotionally, but really made me sympathetic to other people's orientational journeys, too.
