It's more like I realized the eggs were never golden eggs in the first place (for me at least).

Ok, that's valid.

I guess I'm coming from the opposite side of things. I think I appreciate the HP series as much now as I ever did. To me it will probably always be this incredible phenomenon that took the world by storm for a decade and actually deserved the love and attention it got (a rare thing).

That said, I was never in the HP fandom. So I never loved the story in that particular way.

I should have said, "I can see that that's valid." Just in case. Not really interested in starting the "So you think you're the arbiter of what's valid and what isn't?" wank.
