(Anonymous) 2019-01-05 01:26 am (UTC)(link)Same. Not because I want to Kill All The Menz, but because-
1. Killing off mostly men, and most of the men, is a super uncommon thing for a story to do, and thus kind of novel.
2. It actually seems incredibly appropriate (and maybe deliberate?) that in a story about sea sirens (read: mythological seductive man killers), almost all the men die, and the ones who don't are apparently either not yet sexually mature or not sexually interested in women.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-05 01:42 am (UTC)(link)Geez, killing off the dudes makes total sense, now! (Not even kidding.)
That said, I'm an asshole who prefers shows with hot guys. I mean, I'll watch female-centric shows, of course, but with an ensemble cast, I need some eye candy, man.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-05 01:52 am (UTC)(link)~SPOILERS.
It would make sense if that was how most of them died. But it was not.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-05 02:33 am (UTC)(link)Even so, it may be possible to make an argument that, even though the men didn't die by the Siren's hands, their deaths (the fact that it was the straight men who died) still plays thematically into the Siren theme/concept. *shrugs*
Might watch to see for myself.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-05 02:37 am (UTC)(link)I am not that kind of asshole, but I am another kind of asshole who prefers most of the main characters of most shows to be hot, so I judge not. ;)
