Top/bottom, sure. There are some characters I just can't see as anything but submissive (Spike from Buffy) or dominant (Melkor from Tolkien). But switching up in terms of bed positions, sure, I wish there was more of that.

Dominance is not the same as topping in the penetrative sense, and I wish more writers really understood that and USED it.

Like, I can TOTALLY see Melkor deciding he's in a mood to take some dick and just ordering Sauron to give it to him. No negotiating. No "but I'm a bottom really...?" No. If Melkor wants it, he will tie Sauron up and ride him like a stolen mule. If Morgoth Bauglir wants his sidekick's mini-Grond in his arse, than by Himself, he will have it. :D

I'd read that. I might write it. I think I found one fic that did that? Honestly, dominant bottoming is one of my favorite tropes.
