I know this one! Chris Evans.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
Make sense. Chris Evans has commented in an interview about losing his hair. In particular he was talking about Sebastian Stan "He's got a full head of hair, unlike this guy here." (Points to self). It's the interview where he is with Sebastian and Anthony Mackie and has to keep deciding which one he'd choose in various situations :).
Although if it is Chris Evans, I get the impression he wants to go into directing :).

Man, I love how open Chris Evans is about his insecurities. Also, I like how much he despises the Trump administration.

Really? I hadn't even noticed any hair loss.

Me, either, but I've noticed a lot of people say 'omg, his hair is receding'!! about actors and I'm going 'huh'? a lot of the time.

He still looks fucking hot as fuck to me.

This isn't the 80s anymore. If a celeb wants to they can get a hair transplant that is basically indistinguishable from natural hair.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Hehe, what's John Travolta's excuse, then?

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 12:48 am (UTC)(link)
Scientology

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 12:51 am (UTC)(link)
"celeb wants to"

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
It never stopped Bruce Willis. And most of the other guys over 40 have at least receding hairlines and at most major baldness, but they cover it up just fine.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 01:09 am (UTC)(link)
As long as the guy is smart and considerate, he can be bald as a billiard ball. (I love a perky butt though.)

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 02:01 am (UTC)(link)
Jason Statham is my favorite action hero/anti-hero.

Actually, there are quite a few actors this happens to.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
They either roll with it or find a way around it (hair pieces, hair styling, transplants, wigs, etc.).

This, pretty much. Sean Connery was fine with being bald, but since the makers of Never Say Never Again didn't really want a bald Bond for that last film, he wears a hairpiece. Simple as that.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Loss of hair doesn't equal loss of roles.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 01:52 am (UTC)(link)
Or Jason Statham and Bruce Willis would never get any work.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 02:44 am (UTC)(link)
...as long as the guy looks good bald. Not every guy does, unfortunately.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
^ THIS. Sadly.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
It's not an automatic guarantee, no. But let's not be naive - this is definitely an obstacle in a male actor's career, not unlike how wrinkles and other signs of ageing are obstacles in an actress' career.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 07:57 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know why any celeb lets themselves go bald when they have the money for good plugs

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 08:13 am (UTC)(link)
Too much self respect.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-10 06:41 pm (UTC)(link)
It's not a foolproof plan. If your hair is thinning all over, you're not going to have enough to fill in the gaps. Even if it works, it takes months to heal and grow in and even longer for the hair to thicken and fill out more. Most celebs who have the money for this know it's not easy to just disappear from public view for a year.

"He's still attractive... for now."

NGL, that stung a bit to read. Signed, a man with a family history of male pattern baldness.
