They will be, yes, but - that doesn't mean they'll be horribly depressed and grieving for all that time. Many people fall in love more than once, and even if they don't have the same kind of/as passionate of a love, they have all kinds of chances to be happy.

Especially if they're immortal - I imagine they've kind of figured out a way to move themselves along to the next phase of their life.

(I think that's a trope i hate the most: Immortal Character's 'True Love' dies and IC proceeds to spend the next 300 years or so mourning them, slumping around in gloomy, depressed attitudes, and generally not moving on. Makes me furious.)

Eh, I know it's a trope, but some people I have seen are so in love that I could honestly see them not loving someone else again. I mean, I'm sure they wouldn't be throwing themselves down and weeping spontaneously on furniture every five minutes three hundred years later, but I could see them having just friends and not looking for a romantic relationship.

Oh, sure. I mean - my Dad died over 10 years ago, and my mom certainly would never/will never fall in love again, or even want to.

But if you're gonna live forever, you might wanna, you know....do a little grief counseling or something, heh.
