Exactly. Extroverts are preferred over introverts in every way possible. Extroverts are wanted as friends, romantic partners, employees, etc, while introverts are dismissed or ignored. I swear I will not be surprised if someday they start rounding up introverts and shipping them off to the gas chambers.

I understand completely :/. Introverts have a completely different set of skills from extroverts, but they're overlooked just because we're 'unsocial' and 'can't interact with others well.'

Yup! And introverts are often the dreamers, thinkers, and creative types, who often don't fit in so well in a world where the primary values are "economic productivity", ie. producing and consuming more and more stuff.

I'm the same way too. I love my friends, but if they leave it up to me I'll go for weeks without calling them sometimes. You're right that we live in an extroverted world. If I don't make small talk with people, they assume I'm an aloof bitch.

I can make small talk perfectly fine; I've worked in museums for almost ten years, and it's pretty essential to be able to at least appear friendly and outgoing to people. But when I have the choice, I'd rather say nothing at all and just do my own thing, and people don't like that for some reason.

Yeah, I have hardly any social life to speak of, and it can be irritating at times. But at the same time... I love how unattached I am to everyone around me.

Oh well..I wonder if there is an introverts community? That would be win.

Yeesh, it seems like most of the people in that comm are confusing "introverted" with "socially awkward". Two different things!

Lol. Maybe it's just asking too much to expect real introverts to want to commune with one another.

Hey, I have no problem communicating via text :p.

Communicating is one thing, but wanting to form a community? A real introvert comm would probably only have like one entry a month. I'm not even sure what there is to really discuss-- "I like to be alone". "Me too" "OK".

It's a lot of discussion of how to deal with an extroverted world, actually.

...really? Seemed like more people discussing social anxiety (a problem totally unrelated to whether or not you're an introvert) when I looked but I didn't go past the first page so w/e.

Well, if they're so confused, you could always go explain it to them :p.
