The world doesn't work like that, sweetie. There are plenty of beautiful, intelligent, wise women and men out there who wouldn't know Katy Reichs' characters from Rita Mae Brown's. It doesn't make them stupid.
Also, you don't know me or my friend. She watches as much television as I do, so I'm not afraid she'll think I'm weird for referencing a current series to describe our friendship. I'm just afraid she won't follow the analogy because she watches something else during Bones' time slots. Considering how much reality TV she watches, that's entirely possible.
Well, that and she might think I'm more Zack Addy than Tempe Brennan. j/k

I mean, regardless of whether or not someone is an avid television watcher or part of a fandom, there are many ways to tell them what they mean to you than just You Are The ___ To My ___. There's no need for it to be that complicated, just tell them straight up "You mean alot to me". That's what my thoughts were when I read your secret.
