Well yes, I get how it works now, but I still think memorizing all those numbers seems... harder than just typing it out.

And I did check out the guide-- I dunno, doesn't seem that easy to me. Reborn has a lot of characters. It might be easy for someone who has a head for memorizing numbers (I don't) and who knows Japanese at a level better than weaboo (I don't either).

There's really only 12 or less active numbers to actually remember. The list had included most of the numbers in the Japanese fandom which the fandom don't really use.

Unless you have a hard time remembering or intimidated bynumbers, it shouldn't be hard. Remember, most of the fandom don't speak Japanese at all either and still got them.

Besides, it's not like a huge math test either. It's definately easier learn the numbers for 10 minutes and type out 5927 than keep writing Gokudera/Tsuna IMO.

I think typing the names out is easier. But that's just me... and a couple of other people here in this fandomsecrets post.

When I first saw the pairing numbers, I'd only read about five chapters of Reborn (I'm at 20 chapters now! Slowly getting there!). The numbers are really confusing to the casual observer, and make it harder for a new person to get into the fandom (at least, in my case).

That's a couple of people. Actually, including me, there has been three people who thought the OP was overexggerating it.

And I doubt it kept fans away, we get new fans each day and EVERYONE at one point had to learn the numbers thing, and a majority of them don't speak a lick of Japanese. And if it was a difficult system to keep up with, we would've ditched it a long time ago.

It was like that in the Gundam Wing fandom too when it was big back in 2000. Most people don't have a problem adjusting.
