It really is! (frustrating). And even more disappointing for me is, I have a friend who finds the same interest in such subjects and has watched the show as well but is seemingly too busy engaging in her other fandoms to indulge in delicious discussion. It has positively left me in despair! So to speak.

We need an essay. A thought provoking psycho-analysis that brings up a lot of questions that in turn evoke response which evolves into discussion and fic.

Yes, an essay would be great! Or just him being played straight/taken seriously a bit more often. I mean, he's a funny character, but he has so much potential beyond that.

I like to pretend the novel 'No Longer Human' by Osamu Dazai takes place before SZS. It's even an acknowledged fact that Nozomu is a caricature of Yozo (protagonist of NLH). Well, it's all I have for now. /recommendation
