Now THIS is how you word a secret to elicit sympathy, OP.

You're not whining, you're not acting like an entitled brat who's owed fic they want, you're not judging people for eroticizing stereotypes or whatever. You're just genuinely sad that you can't find what you want to read. And I can relate to that, and I hope you get more of what you want. It almost makes me want to write you fic just because you were so nice about it.

Well, if that's the angle that you're going to take, if that's how you want to talk about - I think most secrets about this topic are coming from basically the same place, and certain fic writers on here just have a chip on their shoulder.

I'm not OP (please don't conflate them with my stupid ass!) so I'm really not even sure what you're talking about.

it's just weird to me to respond to a secret - one that, in anon's own judgment, was totally innocuous - with a screed about how annoying a bunch of other secrets are, and it helps support my pre-existing perception that the people who get worked up about this have a chip on their shoulder.

I wonder what that chip is? Are they mad that no one will read their shitty fic? Are they secretly mad that no one will write fic for them? Are they mad that no one will ask them to write fic for them?

Because it's so terribly important to elicit sympathy from random internet strangers. Strangers who are, I should note, the same people who are most likely to be swift to judge anyone who dares to express a wish for something as "entitled". That's the dynamic I see far more often on this community.
