Are you female? Go on tinder. You can get a one night stand in like an hour.

Female. Didn't work for me. Still a virgin.

You have to either be really confident because lots of guys aren't, or else lucky(?) enough to swipe right on a creep who's just going to say hey baby wanna come over.

So you're saying that it's basically the same regardless of gender?

(Anonymous) 2019-01-17 12:24 am (UTC)(link)
Essentially.

You also have to have a face/body that they would want to touch.

+1

nobody wants my face or body, it's an automatic no-go

NAYRT—no one, or just no one you’re attracted to in return? I’m an ugly cis woman virgin but I’ve always either not been physically attracted to guys who hit on me, frightened because their behavior was off or creepy, or both. I usually feel sad for the guys that aren’t physically my type because it’s not their fault, but most of them (and 99% of the conventionally attractive but off-kilter ones) freak out and get verbally and/or physically abusive because how dare my ugly troll*/gnome• ass turn them down? ... sigh

*I’ve been called a troll (in a looks like a rl troll doll way) so many times I’ve lost count.

•I’ve only been called a gnome twice, and I assume they forgot the word “troll” because I don’t go around in a pointy hat, and even if I forget to shave for a month I can’t grow a decent beard, just stray witch-hairs.

Yeah, but you can only chat if you both swiped right, right?

(Anonymous) 2019-01-17 01:00 am (UTC)(link)
That presupposes that someone will swipe.

(Anonymous) 2019-01-17 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
And to photograph well enough to get it across online that you have that face/body.

Tinder is incredibly visually-oriented (and one-night stands are about base attraction, so it's completely understandable that people would use Tinder to hook up with people they find physically attractive), and other dating sites aren't much better in that regard, so if you aren't very attractive, or are attractive but not photogenic, or you don't have good photos of yourself and you find it hard to take good photos of yourself and don't know anyone who is remotely good at taking pictures of other human beings, whether posed or as a faux-candid, and choosing good lighting and telling you how to hold your body and facial expression... then you're basically cut out of both online hookups and dating, which is now pretty much the only way hookups and dating happen.
