....really? Caulfield is nothing like Tyler Durden (in my mind), and i certainly don't think you're a 'sociopath' for liking him.

I question your taste, maybe.....

I didn't know liking Holden has become a Bad Sign. (I didn't relate to him that much as a teen but that was partly because his life was so wildly different from mine.) So nobody's ever even implied I shouldn't like Holden - just that I have terrible taste because I like the book in the first place. For something so well-known I find very few people who like it even a little.

Me,either. I find the comparison really weird. Holden wasn't a sociopath or anything, just a screwed up kid. *Worlds* away from the Tyler Durden mess.

I think it's one of 'those' classics that everyone is suppose to read and get some deeper meaning from, but....no. Like The Crucible, and some of the Russian novels, it just doesn't click for a lot of people.
