The secret mentions his involvement with Bon Appetit magazine.

My boss got a mailer offering a deal on a subscription to the magazine. While working to clean the desk today, my boss found the mailer, wanted me to go to the website. I did. There was not a phone number visible to contact customer service to inquire about the deal, so he threw the mailer in the trash & said fuck it. He's not interested in subscribing if their customer service isn't readily available on the site.

...I have to admit, I don't know what was so hard to understand about my first comment.

NAYRT, but your comment confused me too because you didn't mention that your boss had asked you to find the number so I couldn't see the connection between your actions and his. It sounded a bit like that "If it wasn't for my horse, I wouldn't have spent that year in college" quote.

I also had never seen the word mailer used in this way, but English is not my first language so this is bound to happen every now and then.
