I just finsihed The 12 Kingdoms, and I really enjoyed it. I'm looking for some other shows. New or old, I don't care.

I'm looking for a show that has any of the following elements
fantasy
character growth
friendship
adventure

And I'll be shallow and say I want some pretty dudes. Thanks! Recs with romance are also cool!

Or whatever your favorites or amines you think are great! I really like Samaurai Champloo, for example.

If you haven't watched Yona of the Dawn or The Ancient Magus Bride I highly recommend both of them. Also a bit on the older side but there's never a bad time to rec Princess Tutu.

This one's a bit of a long shot but depending on how willing you are to look at less than legal streaming sites, the Chinese anime adaptation of Mo Dao Zu Shi/Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation is shaping up to be a very good fantasy wuxia-tinged series filled with pretty boys. The only downside (besides no official subbed release so fansubs are the way to go) is that the web novel it's based off of is very definitely gay while the anime not so much.

I mean yes, the donghua will not be gay due to shitty censorship but it wouldn't have been gay yet at this point in the series anyway.

There's definitely some points already that have been toned down that would have been pretty gay (the scene in the cave with the turtle monster comes to mind).

It's definitely intentional. They would get cancelled in the blink of an eye if they included too much gay but it seems they are trying to get as much past the censors as they can. Too much, it seems, as it had been taken off the Tencent site (that's the producer) - officially because it was too gory but most people are pretty certain that wasn't the actual issue. I'm not sure if it was just temporary though.

The only thing i can think of is Natsume's Book of Friends, which is... definitely fantasy, character growth, and friendship... but, perhaps, light on the adventure, though adventure happens. It's sweet as honey, and will slay you with friendship and family feels.

good place to slide in and rec One Piece, since it checks all four boxes. pretty dudes is sort of eye of the beholder, it never was traditionally bishonen but I find myself extremely enamored of an awful lot of characters.

usual caveats: yes, it's long and ongoing. at least you won't run out of it in a week. yes, the early early art is a bit rough to get used to but jfc it was 1999, the art does change over time. yes, Oda draws women very sexily. I don't mind it because there is also a lot of male fanservice.

If you like Samurai Champloo, you might like Cowboy Bebop as well. It's more sci-fi than fantasy, but has Champloo's weirdness, character growth, friendship and a lot of adventure.

Also, Hunter x Hunter, has all the elements you named. There are 2 anime of this show. The original '90's anime is more happy-go-lucky and doesn't strictly follow the manga.
The 2011 anime follows the manga and is darker in places. Both are good IMO.

Favorite Zuko Fics?

I'm looking for good Zuko fics, with great characterization. Can be fucked up or redemptive. If there is any smut or romance, I prefer het, if you have any. Otherwise, gen is good.
