I've watched these shows from time to tome (when i had cable) and yeah, i was always so put off by idiot Americans (usually), who were flabbergasted that they coudln't get granite counters and 4500 square foot homes for a minimal cost.

Of course, those same type of people actually think they need a 4500 square foot home, wherever they are, and think a 3000 dollar monthly mortgage is fine, which....wtf.

Ha, yes. And they're usually the same people who want a huge kitchen with professional quality stoves/oven for "entertaining" even if they don't actually cook.

Homg, right? Like - really? You need a six-burner stove, two ovens, and an 8000 dollar 'fridge why, now? It's nutty.

Two ovens makes sense because sometimes you're cooking two dishes for a meal that have to go at different temperatures. I have two ovens and I use them both all the time - I may be roasting potatoes in one at 425 and baking chicken breasts in the other at 350, for instance. But a six-burner stove? I cook all the time and even the four-burner one that I have is really more than I need.

I admit they could be handy, but a deal-breaker? No way. Especially when people are going for appliances that cost the same as a sub-compact car.

I remember one lady crying on Property Brothers because she couldn't afford double ovens during the reno.
