Keep telling yourself that, sweetums.

Okay snookie. You keep being a judgey douchecanoe.

Your analogy fucking sucks because celebrities also loathe trash gossip mags. They literally beg paps to stop following them and stop coming up with wild bullshit to sell that has no basis in reality. Like really? Because these horrifically invasive trash rags exist, that makes people doing the Lite version okay? That's the take you're really giving here?

Yeah, because trash rags are in their face, paparazzi follow them around and harass them. THAT IS BAD AND INVASIVE AND TERRIBLE.

Someone writing A loves B in an obscure corner of the internet (unless actors/etc regularly frequent AO3) is not hurting them!

I'm defending fucking crazy people, but to equate fanfic with batshit insane fans who go to cons and panels and say, "Hey Jared admit you're really in love with Jensen!" is ridiculous.

But somehow regular people (not the artists themselves) think trash mags are okay but fanfic is somehow crossing a line. THAT'S what I don't get.

not defending** wow, that was a terrible word to leave out...
