I honestly don't see anything wrong with the cat one? If they were planning on having kids, that would be hugely stressful to an old cat who had never been around children before. Rehoming it would be the responsible thing to do in a situation like that. I know people like to scream about how you should never give up a pet once you adopt it, but there are cases where doing so is genuinely the best thing to do for the animal, and that would be one of them.

His comments about the cat (and tone) in the second link make it sound shady as fuck and frankly, and elderly animal being sent away after all it's life in one home will be stressed and unhappy. A kid they can get used to; leaving the only place they know and never seeing their people again is fucked up.

Sure, it will be stressed and unhappy for a while. But from my own personal experience of adopting many older pets, they generally settle in just fine and end up being perfectly happy in their new home.

In contrast, when my friend and her husband had a baby, their dog was incredibly distressed for close to a year because there was suddenly this new loud THING in his territory that disrupted his schedule and ate up all his owners' attention. It would have been far kinder to rehome the dog instead of forcing him to put up with that because he was clearly very upset with the situation.

Oh. No. I didn't like him much anyway. But this is terrible and now I hate him.

He raises lambs so he can take cute pics with them and then “turn them off like a tv” and post pics of their flesh.
