Same here, OP.

When HP was still coming out, I was still very insecure about my English and stayed away from the fandom at that time and basically didn't know what was going on and when I finally found out, I never confessed to shipping them cause apparently the fandom was awful and I felt like people would think I was part of them and be awful to me in return.
