No. The point of the argument is not whether any of the things people enjoy fictionally is actually wrong or not. It is whether people believe it's wrong. It is a fact that some people believe gay relationships are wrong. It is also a fact that some people believe serial killing is wrong. I am comparing the fictional consumption of those things by people who believe they are wrong in real life.

Nice try at deflection though, you picked a popular one! Does that fallacy have a name?

Here's an example. Substitute slash and gay relationships with literally anything at all, and I can make the same argument.

"It's not hypocritical to read books about kittens and hate kittens in real life for the same reason it's not hypocritical to be a fan of evil characters, play violent video games, or watch shows about serial killers and be against those things in real life."

If I said that, would you really think I was comparing kittens to serial killers?
