i appreciate it, but my mother knows she's an alcoholic. she's gone to therapy, detoxed at hospitals, went to aa meeting for years, she knows.

also yea it's not a different event, this is the only time she had to get stitches for something like that. pretty sure she sometimes burns herself/cuts herself while cooking and she's fallen asleep with food in the oven before, but nothing serious ever happened.

if i corrected her i would feel obligated to follow through and that's just too much work for me. that might sound cold, but id rather be cold than feel responsible for her happiness. co-dependency is no joke yo
