That's pretty stupid, since it's not like there's any set point value for something like keeping major magical artifacts from the hands of undead wizards. Dumbledore could quite easily have added those same points to Harry, Ron, and Hermione's scores in some combination, and no one would have batted an eye. He pointed out Neville because Neville did something worth pointing out, and rewarding him last and giving him the points needed to tip the victory in Gryffindor's favour was the best way to shine a light on that.
