They're incorrect in the conclusions that they're drawing

Are they incorrect though? Look at how many women love being thots and littles. It's like the majority of us DO want to be dehumanized deep down (not me though, the very idea is sickening to me). Can you really not look deeper into WHY women love fictional assholes and monsters?

Yes, yes, you're a good special virginal unicorn and the rest of us are dirty whores.

Grow the fuck up.

Not an argument. Also good job with the cattyness.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
Abusers self-selecting for damaged women and women buying into the narrative that assholes can be redeemed by the love of a good woman in no way justifies or lessens the responsibility abusers bear for being abusive.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 01:41 am (UTC)(link)
'kay but women are still just as responsible for perpetuating rape culture as men.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
And yet, somehow rapists are still the only ones responsible for fucking raping people you myopic turnip.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 01:51 am (UTC)(link)
Not at all helped by the fact that women continue to show that they find troubled, controlling, frightening men appealing. Both in fiction and real life.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
It's still solely and entirely your fault if you rape someone.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 02:23 am (UTC)(link)
Sure, but it doesn't help.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 02:31 am (UTC)(link)
Y’know what, just keep being yourself, I’m sure that’s karma enough.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 03:19 am (UTC)(link)
At least I can feel good knowing I don't engage in sick fantasies that give more justification for men to loathe you and wonder why women are so fucking backwards.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 03:25 am (UTC)(link)
NAYRT—I don’t have rape fantasies, but at least I’m not claiming that women who do are the reason rapists and abusers are rapists and abusers. Sincerely hoping you’re a troll, here.

Re: Lololol!

Wanting to be dominated in a sexual context does not mean that you want to be dehumanized in a more general sense. So to the extent that they're drawing general moral conclusions from sexual fantasies, yes, they are categorically incorrect.

I do think it's interesting to ask why women love fictional assholes and monsters. But I don't think that the answer to that question is going to answer broad moral questions about The Nature Of Women, let alone justify abuse of women.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 01:58 am (UTC)(link)
For one thing, fiction has taught us that fictional assholes and monsters have the potential to be changed for the better, and that can be a powerful fantasy when you're surrounded by real assholes and monsters who will never, ever change.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 02:03 am (UTC)(link)
It's almost like the narrative that being the best good little woman you can be will earn you the love and respect of the most vilest man and fulfill you completely benefits someone.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 02:14 am (UTC)(link)
Only if people confuse the fantasy narrative for reality.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 02:17 am (UTC)(link)
I'm just saying that narrative reinforces the stupid argument playing out in this thread: that it's ultimately a woman's fault if a man can't treat her with basic fucking respect so it's hardly shocking patriarchal societies bolster it.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 02:42 am (UTC)(link)
And yet women are still drawn to real men who are like that and stay with them for some reason. And I don't just mean extreme wife beater rapey types, I mean ones who are subtly abusive and manipulative without intending to be. Women still dig it, especially if the men in question have any kind of clout.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
If you genuinely think abuse victims are drawn into and trapped in relationships with their abusers because they get off on it, there is no hope for you.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
They got into that mess in the first place for a reason.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
And the people that guys like Ted Bundy killed were totally asking for it!

Newsflash, most abusers don't start right out the gate with, "Hey baby wanna move in with me so I can knock you around, isolate you from your friends and family, and make you feel like you're worthless?"

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 03:32 am (UTC)(link)
Funny you use Ted Bundy as an example considering how many women fangirled him and sent him love letters. And this shit is still happening.

Goddamn, women are fucked up.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 03:50 am (UTC)(link)
NAYRT but, er, obviously the women who write love letters to serial killers are fucked up. But serial killers—who are mostly men and all fucked up—don’t become serial killers so fucked up women will write them love letters while they chill on death row.

Some assholes blame women for their issues, and become rapists and abusers, but their end goal is domination; it’s about controlling women, not earning their love, trust, affection, or even lust. They don’t care what their victims want, or think “maybe if I go on a murder spree, and bury the bodies in a ditch, women will think I’m hot!”

The only people I’ve seen seriously argue that the reason women are attracted to assholes is that they’re assholes, and that maybe they’ll have a chance with women if they are also assholes, are losers with nothing to recommend them to any romantic partner, so they grasp at straws and seize on an action that requires zero self-reflection, effort, or improvement.

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Watch anons try to argue that the women who actively pursue real life serial killers or mass shooters aren't asking for it and are not at fault if they get hurt by these men. Women are never wrong!

Re: Lololol!

(Anonymous) 2019-01-28 04:03 am (UTC)(link)
What do you mean by "fault" here? Their conduct is certainly imprudent (and, frankly, stupid) but that still doesn't mean that they deserve to get murdered.
