(Anonymous) 2019-01-29 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)upwork seems to be the way some people start, as well. honestly i get the feeling that to be a successful ghostwriter you have to be as much of a go-better as any other sort of writer. sure, some make big bucks, but most probably don't. a lot seem to earn very little money for mediocre material that's used to scam KU or flood the internet with clickbait. sorry if that's too cynical, it's just my impression.
best of luck with it if you pursue this. i'd say: expect to scramble. at least at first. and realize that in some markets, you're probably competing with someone who speaks ESL and will work for pennies to churn out material that might not even be proofread.
there are high end ghostwriters, of course. i suspect one needs a certain amount of experience, contacts, and luck to join their ranks. also, to be damn good at it
