If someone were to identify you by your writing alone, what'd give you away?

Both your casual, talking-to-people-on-the-internet writing and the other, more formal stuff.

Typos everywhere, semi-colon use, and short sentences with lots of buts and ands. If there are more than two typos in a post here, it is probably mine.

I avoid writing formally whenever and whenever possible.

In chat/everyday form, I end soooo many sentences with "lmao". I should probably try to curb that.

In my writing-writing, it's definitely the overuse of the em dash and parenthesis that would give me away. I write almost exclusively in present tense third-person limited, and sometimes a character's thoughts are super messy, which I try to get across as best as possible.

my fics tend to have a lot of humor, sex and references to food and music.

That semicolons set my house on fire and dashes saved me from hypothermia.

I don't know what it is. Every time I try to use a semicolon, something in my head says, 'Nope! You know what you could use here? A dash. Yeah, that'll work.'

“All y’all”, like, and I love my commas.

I like to abuse grammar and punctuation for dramatic effect.

I start every story with "Once upon a time there was a little bunny/mouse/frog/princess"
