Why do clothes suck now?

I know fast fashion and cheap materials blah blah, but why do tops from Zara and H&M have to fall apart after 3 washes? Even if I bought something with the intention of only wearing it for one season, I still wouldn't feel like it was worth it.

On the subject, cheap shoes suck. Even if they look like a knock off of better quality ones, they suck to wear. The glue that holds the inserts down disappears and the insides roll back so you're always uncomfortable. I hate them.

Don't I know it.
Especially with cheap-ass shoes. I try really hard to get 100% cotton tops and buy high quality stuff, but it's so damned expensive. ( Alabama Chanin, I'm looking at you... )
