I don't know why so many people find that food scene so gross and shocking. Bugs are eaten all around the world today. They're highly nutritious and I much prefer them in a product form then as individual bugs.

Yeah, I had heard of some kind of "OMG that food scene, so gross, amIright?" thing before watching the movie and went in expecting another Soylent Green situation but... roaches? Sure, crickets are supposed to be better suited for food production but insects are a great source of protein and the food industry is currently looking into insect-based products with great interest. Insects are super easy to keep and farm, too, so they're perfect for a continuously moving, cramped living space.
