I still think a foetus is a baby. I still believe life begins at conception. I just realized that no one can force anyone to do anything with their body, even if it means that someone else will die. I see carrying a baby now as like organ donation. Sure, if you don't donate that kidney, someone might die who would otherwise live. Doesn't matter, no one can force you to do it.

Not saying anyone has to agree. Just saying, you can believe that life and personhood begin at conception and still be pro choice.

Do you feel any different about first trimester abortions in comparison to late term abortions?

Not until viability. I think abortions should be allowed, full stop, until viability. At viability, I don't see why you would have an abortion as opposed to inducing and allowing the baby to live outside the mother (if there was some health reason for an abortion post-viability, I think I'd be fine with it then).

Despite what certain anti-choice factions claim, late-term abortions are almost exclusively for health reasons, because they're too physically and emotionally stressful to have "just because." Either the fetus is going to be a direct factor in the death of the mother or it's already dying or it's incapable of living for very long outside of its mother because it's missing things like most of its brain.

They also occasionally happen because someone raped their 10-year-old daughter in a state where parental consent is required for an abortion and it took that long for the court to pull its collective head out of its ass.

And I'm absolutely 100% fine with it in all those cases. The only time I wouldn't be fine with it was if there was an option to induce and allow the baby to live apart from the mother without hurting the mother in any way. At that point the baby doesn't need her body anymore. And I'm well aware that the thing I'm talking about isn't legal now. Our laws are way too restricted. I'm just saying I wouldn't agree with a law that was 100% permissive and allowed abortion up to when labor starts.
