I acknowledge that it's a life ending, but I wouldn't call it murder. I liken it to terminating life support if a person isn't expected to recover. They are alive, but they can't really live without reliance on something, and they're not aware of their own fate.

It is different from murdering a baby. If you don't want a baby in my country, you have the option to leave them with someone and know that they will be safe. You have no reason to kill an unwanted child except that you're a fucking monster.

You can't opt out of having a fetus in the same way. You can't just give it to someone else to grow in their womb and wash your hands of it.

I don't really get that comparison, because give a fetus a few months and they'll be able to live without reliance, but give a brain dead person a few months and they'll still be brain dead.

ayrt

I was comparing ending the life of a fetus to ending the life of a braindead person, but I was not comparing a living woman to a life support machine. If you could somehow abort the fetus and stick it in an artificial womb to mature, then sure, that's comparable. Unfortunately, you can't take a human woman out of the equation. We don't have the technology for that.
