Re: Betas, what's your worst writer story?

I was asked once to beta for someone whose writing I was not familiar with, and to this day I'm still not sure I wasn't being trolled. Every other word was misspelled. Punctuation was non existent. Paragraphs? LOL! The writer kept switching tenses/persons. The writer forgot their own story details (it was night then suddenly noon, the story was set in one city but three were mentioned, character named were switched, etc.). It was the biggest mess I'd ever seen and I sent it back to them and said I couldn't do it.
