But this is SPN. Only a handful of characters got in-depth characterization. And I pretty much only saw the "too competent/makes the guys look bad" complaint about Bela. (There was a bit of "too competent" anout Jo as a hunter, but not nearly as much as I saw about Bela.) Unless things changed after I stopped watching? I gave up after Ellen and Jo in season 5.

So you think it was solely about the sexy thief trope? Do you think is she had been unattractive and/or male or if she had not been a thief, but had been a different kind of foil like Gabriel the Trickster, you/others would have felt or reacted differently?
