I thought they were going to Canada because they were too young to buy beer in the US... but now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure the legal drinking age in Wisconsin was 18 back then, so I don't know what they were doing!

Maybe Wisconsin has very bad beer

Slander! Actually, I don't like beer at all and don't care, but Wisconsin has a big brewing tradition that folks here are really proud of. (If you start a fight with them, I will quietly slink away.) Of course, it's all about craft brewing these days and I don't know what was available in the 70s. Maybe it wasn't good.

The legal drinking age back then was eighteen. There was even an episode where the gang find out that Kelso’s actually eighteen and could’ve been buying them beer, so yeah, no idea why they’d go to Canada for beer.

Haha. No fight starting here! Wisconsin is one state I haven't actually been to so I cannot attest to their good or bad beer.
