I just can't see Ginny accepting Severus as a name for her kid after what Snape did to her husband and her friends.

Okay but if Harry wanted the name then Harry had clearly accepted it and still had respect for Snape so it would be kind of shitty for Ginny to say "I don't care about how YOU feel about it," don't you think?

Given that Harry chose the names for all three kids, I think it would be perfectly reasonable for Ginny to want a say on one name and to veto one name. Her having no say at all and him getting to name all three is what is shitty.

To me? No, I don't think it would be shitty for Ginny to veto a name. When deciding on a name for your child, if both parents are around, then both parents should get to have input into the names. I'd be livid if my partner had decided on a name for our child that I hated. Especially if it were the name of someone in my past who had done awful things to me and my friends. You think it would be shitty of Ginny to say "I don't care about how YOU feel about it," but you don't think that it would be shitty if Harry had said that to Ginny about using the name?

(I'm not saying Ginny actually cared. As far as I remember we didn't find out how Ginny felt about Snape at the end and/or how she felt about the name. I'm just saying that if she had felt strongly negative about the name it would have been more shitty for Harry to insist upon using it for their child than for Ginny to say she didn't want to use it. Which you seem to be saying the exact opposite of.)

If she dislikes or distrusts him even a little, or even has a completely neutral take on him, no matter Harry or how he feels about it that’s enough to be like “Nah, I don’t want to think of him every time my kid’s name gets brought up for the rest of my life.” ??
