[British rapper Big Narstie]

I haven't seen Big Narstie on any panel shows. And you're right that Mel B was bad. But tbh, in terms of bad panel guests, it's not ever going to be worse than HIGNFY inadvertently destroying British democracy with its guest booking.

bojo was already a thing before hignfy though

(and of all the people to blame for the death of british democracy, he's actually waaaaaaay down the list)

He's up there for the anti-EU stuff, though. He spent decades as a journalist tearing it down then took that into politics.

(I agree that people like Farage and people like Cameron who tried to appease him are worse, though. And the DUP.)

Mel B was annoying in that she was just a massive fun suck. She wasn't even being made fun of personally (at first) and just seemed morngy right from the start. I don't know why she agreed to do it because the show just didn't seem like a good fit for her.

Whereas Big Narstie is enthusiastic/nice enough but in the one Big Quiz appearance I can remember he kept repeating the same joke and it got tiring.

My big issue at the moment with UK comedy panel shows making bad guest decisions is with Cats Does Countdown. They keep seemingly hiring people for Dictionary Corner who ruin the entire show. A couple of years ago there was a guy whose whole thing seemed to be "lol I'm funny because I have fake buck teeth, a plastic bald/tonsure wig and use a funny voice" and I HATED that episode. Then a couple of nights ago they had two women on who were doing mum stereotypes that were out of date even 30 years ago. It was so much cringe.

Agreed on the Cats Does Countdown Dictionary Corner guests - easily the least enjoyable part of the show for me.

Not as bad as Joe Wilkinson

AYRT

Oh yeah, forgot about him. Don't like him either.

Definitely feel that it's my least favourite part of the whole thing. Also Jimmy trying to be funny during the clock sequence. I liked the show originally because it was a fun mash-up between Countdown and 8 out of 10 Cats. It was still a semi-serious attempt at Countdown with some comedic elements. Now it feels like the actual game is secondary to the guests and/or Jimmy pissing about for most of the run time. Or maybe I've just grown too familiar with the format and it has run its course for me.

I like the non game portions because the game itself is pretty boring. I can only watch comedians being terrible at math and words for so long. Dictionary corner can be a drag depending on the guest, though.

Gossip columns say she's got money troubles. I can't see why she'd be involved in the Big Fat Quiz otherwise because comedy clearly isn't her thing and she seemed super pissy the whole entire time.

I only like Dictionary Corner if David O'Doherty or the Alex Horne section is there.

She's not been back since so either one or both parties learned their lesson there. For me it's not even that she created an atmosphere, I also don't like witnessing something where someone so obviously doesn't want to be there or fit in with whatever is happening. I feel bad for them.

David O'Doherty or Alex Horne and the Horne Section is one of the few times I love Dictionary Corner on Cats Does Countdown!

Also Bill Bailey.
